S5 x Major

A few test shots with my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone a few months back that I never posted.

I pretty much never use my phone for taking pictures except the occasional souvenir shot, but I was curious to see how it would come out compared to what I was used to with my previous Galaxy S2. Expectedly so, it's much better. Not today that I'll rely solely on that as my travel/street camera, but still, it can be useful when you don't have anything else at hand and are prepared to work a little bit on the pictures in lightroom.

Stars x Lightroom

Those shots were taken without much preparation in the summer of 2013, during a road trip in the US national parks and canyons, and post-processed in lightroom only today. I usually tend to limit myself to basic retouching in LR on my pics, except for an occasional removal of something ruining an otherwise nice shot, thanks to photoshop's awesome "context aware fill" feature. But I must admit, I feel a little bit like a cheater on those, since the RAW files look nothing like this when imported in the software. Well, I guess it's ok though ? That being said, this makes me want to shoot some more, this time with more preparation and thinking !

2013 is in the books, and 12/31 will not be remembered any differently
than the days before, when it comes to my recent productions.
At least I finally went up there to check out the view by night.
So I guess I'll just continue working on those old pics from years past
and the trips photos I never published, until excitement and inspiration are back.
